Wheel House Frame Questions

I am looking at bulding a wheel house, I have never had one before. I am thinking of maybe building an 8 x 14. Is there any pros/cons with the 8 x 14 compared to a 6 1/2 x 14 regarding cranking up wheels,room etc. I would like to buy the trailer and build the rest my self. I would like something that I could put 4 bunks in but yet not be overly big. Is 8 x 14 big enough, to big, to small??? Looking for soem opinions. Thaks

You could get bunks in if they were one on top of the other for both sets. Depends on how you want all to fit together really.

I was thinking of stacking them on each end of the house unless some one has another way that works better

It would make a nice house size, With the 8 foot width you have to account for the wheels retracting into the house.I do not recall max legal width for the house to travel down the road but believe it to be 102"

you just need to sit down and DRAW up a plan that YOU would like Both bunks on the ends sleep 4 no problem just sit down and draw

i have drawn MANY plans myself to see what i like and dont like

if I do go with the 8 versus the 6'-6" width, does it make it more of a hassle to crank up the wheels?

Not necessarily. You have a choice to crank them up in the inside or the outside. I personally prefer the outside. If you build it correct, you can make covers for the wheel wells. This way you can bank the house all around without filling in your wheel well.
