Testing CPS?

96 7.3 deisel quit on me yesterday, and I'm thinking it might be the cam position sensor. Is there any way to test it at home, or do I need to take it to a shop?

You could rent a code checker from any auto parts store. it will give you a place to start checking for problems (assuming there is a check engine light on). If you get a service manual it should walk you through a ohm test for that sensor.
