metro fisherman
Theres a big "project" boat on [YouNeedAuthorization] that i saw a couple times and it has a motor with what he says is "Almost no water jacket left" in the upper unit, but it has a good lower unit. He has a 2nd motor that is only a upper unit. There Crystler 85's (HP)and my question is can you really wear out your water jackets and can it be fixed without swapping upper units? boatfixer
Without knowing where it came from excactly, yes, especially if it has been subjected to saltwater, the water jacket or any other part of the cooling system can definitly corrode. The other problem you will run into with that is parts availability. We are seeing more and more older parts no longer available. My advise would be to look for something else.
