How far off the bottom do you have your best luck in?

Where I am I have a bout a foot or two of weeds off bottom and they are fairly thin, given this scenario what depth should I be running my minnow at off the bottom, also I am fishing about 14 FOW if this helps

About a foot off the water. If you have two feet of weeds I would suspend it about a half foot to a foot above those. Ideally you would want to find where either the weeds stop and camp right outside of that... or find where the weeds drop off at.

I found a nice area that had about 3' of weeds, then dropped off to about 1' of weeds.. was a nice setup. Just throw a sucker right over the 1' so it's lined up with the taller weeds.

id try to put you minnow right above the weeds so in your case 2 - 2 1/2 feet off the bottom. also try to keep your tip-up away from high traffic areas if you can but its hard on waconia so good luck.

Thats what I normally do Tim, Never heard of the weed drop idea but makes perfectly good sense.
