straydog
My daughters escort blows air out on all settings but high, can anyone tell me how to test so I know to change the blower, or the switch, or could it be something else?
Jeremy airjer W
Check to see if there is power coming out of the Dark Blue with white wire that comes out of the blower motor resistor. If there is no power unplug it and check for continuity between where the dk blu/white wire and the dk blue/black wire plug into the resistor. If it is open replace the resistor. If there is continuity than it is possible it is the switch. You can also ground the dk blue/white wire with a jumper wire with the resistor plugged in. If the fan turns on it is possible it is a switch. If it doesn't come on than its likely the resistor.Make sure the key is on and the fan is working on the other speeds. The switch is the ground and the power goes to the blower first then to the resistor. High speed bypasses all the resistors and is grounded directly by the switch. straydog
Thank you, hopefully I can get it fixed in the next couple days. With the temps we've been having the high fan speed in the car is needed.
Jeremy airjer W
As odd as this is going to sound you get the best heat with the blower setting not on high. I have proven this to myself plenty of times with a thermometer in the vent. Its the same for a/c the coolest air is always the lower settings. Granted full speed will get everything warmer faster! straydog
Thanks Airjer, I found the dark blue and white wire just had a bad connection to the resistor, easy fix with no parts to buy (for once). Thanks again.
