Don't Forget the Rods

There is a topic on preparing your reels for the season, but what things does everyone do to prepare their rods.

I remove my reels and clean up the cork. Using a paste made out of baking soda does a great job. I also check my guides for any ruff spots. Any nick in your guides can chew up 2# line. At the same time check the wrapping on the guides for possible repairs. Also check the rod blank for any cracks.

When putting your reels back on use silcone tape. This tape does not leave any residue when removed.
