Forest Lake Contest

Did anyone attend the Golden Rainbow contest at Forest Lake on Saturday! I was unable to make it and was just wondering how it went.

I was there but didn't catch a thing. It was a good time anyway. Not as crowded as I expected it be. The first prize fish was a 4.7 pound Northern and the $10,000 went to a .12 pound perch. Just goes to show that you should take anything you catch to the weigh-in tent.

I went, it was a beautiful day with sunshine, not too cold, if you bundled up it was OK. That was my first fishing contest, and although I had a strike that took my minnow, I didn't catch anything either.
But, northerns were hitting all around me, so I didn't move!

Would have loved to have caught that little perch!!!

I'll be there next year!
