Your Olympic sport

Recommended Posts

So - in the spirit of the Olympic games.

What sport have you always dream of participating in, in the Olympics? Summer, Winter or both.

Mine are

Summer - softball and/or mountain biking

Winter - hockey and/or speed skating

Winter...luge or bobsleding...I have always liked the rush on a tobboggan or sled going down steep hills...Can't ski though.

Summer...Baseball or track. Same rush running, but not long distances and I don't run anymore. But then short legs kinda put a cramp on sprinting. frown

Winter: Bobsledding or Luge!!! I've had alot of years of practice being a Minnesotan!

Summer: Badminton, table tennis or volleyball (Tami, I'm surprised you didn't choose Canoe/kayak!!!)

Ahhh a risk taker at heart huh Lisa. do you like carnival rides too.

Badminton, another very fun game -

The white water kayaking is pretty cool, but I went with the sports that I grew up with.

winter- down hill skiing/ or the one when they shoot and cc ski

The High Jump, hmmm - never would have thought that would be picked. Good one though. How about - ohhh whats it called - steeple something, I think. The one where there is 3 differents kinds of jumping and ending with the long jump ??

The Biathlon, very good one.

Volleyball and softball

Volleyball is a good choice for you Teresa, long legs and all. grin

Softball, slow pitch or fast pitch ?

I know they inly have fast-pitch in the Olympics, but slow-pitch has always been my choice.

Winter I love the bobsled

Sumer I'll go with Girls Volleyball and Men's Basketball.

Bobsled - alot of fun, but looks wicked as heck. 2 man or 4 man ?

And I think you've gotten enough razing on the womens volleyball thing so I'll leave that alone. smirk

Okay I tried to keep this in but, come on Shane, you want to play girls volleyball? I don't know if you would cut it in the outfit.

Anyway, for myself, it would shot put or discuss in the summer

Winter, bobsled or hockey

Boxing---I boxed Golden Gloves and If I ever might have been lucky enough to be that good, it would have been fun.

I know, thats why I am the way I am, to many shots to the head. Funny thing about getting hit that hard, one never feels it.

I'll still stick with bobsled, probably two man.

    • Yeah it was a beatdown
    • Your kid needs to stay with him!👍
    • My kid was eating in Beverly Hills and ran into this guy. Talked to him a bit and wished him luck in the game tonight.
    • 🤔as a recovering machinist!🤣🤣that must make me a recovering welder!
    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
