chevy 3.5

i am looking at buying a 2008 impala with the 3.5. I thought i had read somewhere to stay away from the 3.5 but not for sure and don't know if that was just older models or new also. any input is appreciated. thanks joe

Great engine, people have no complaints about the engine or the car and yes it will average 30 or better on the highway.

If I recall correctly the 3.5 has the same intake setup as the 3.1 and 3.4. It is still to new to see what the gaskets will do long term. If you keep any car long enough you'll have to spend money on repairs.

My mom has a 2006 and hasn't had any problems from the engine after 60,000 miles. Has good enough power for a daily driven sedan and I've seen 30-32 with the cruise set on 70-75. Nice cars for sure.
