18 horse evinrude

hey I guys i have a 66 evinrude 18 horse. Water has gotten into the lower unit so I am going to replace all seals since I have the lower tore apart due to a worn clutch dog. I am tring to figure out how to get the drive shaft seal out. I don't want to pry the thing out thanks ahead of time

Unless you have access to the seal puller, or a small slide hammer, you're gonna have to pry them out. It can easily be done this way, just be careful of that little lip.

Hey, is that 'rude a fastwin? If so, I have one too. purrs like a kitten, but it binds when i try to shift it.

yes it is a fastwin. binds when you shift hmm. Are you shifting it slow or fast? Make sure you have the idle down far enough so the rps aren't too high. What year do you have?

when the engine is not running is when it binds.
