I have a 2004 Yamaha V-max 150 (carb) and while on Prior Lake last week my engine started making a ticking/knocking noise. Has anyone had any issues with engine knock? Is there anything I should be looking over to ensure I didn't over look anything before bringing it into the dealer? I don't want to lose my boat for a few weeks unless I really need to. Any help or general insight would be appreciated.

Do you mix Ring Free with your gas? If not, that would be the first thing to try.

I've owned a Yamaha for only 1 month, but it seems like everyone I talk to tells me that it is very important to add ring free regularly.
