Gainey Conference Center, Owatonna Wildlife artists and aficionados will gather on Saturday, July 12, 2008, in Owatonna, Minnesota, to celebrate 75 years of Federal Duck Stamps and see the design of the 2008 stamp by Joe Hautman of Plymouth, Minnesota. All events will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Daniel C. Gainey Conference Center, including: • Post Office home state cancellation of the 2008 stamp • Autographs by Mr. Hautman, three-time winner of the Federal Duck Stamp competition • Appearances by many of the living Federal Duck Stamp artists (15 have won the contest) • Exhibit of original artwork by Minnesota’s leading wildlife artists. • History booklet on 75 years of Federal Duck Stamps and Minnesota’s role • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service exhibits on Junior Duck Stamp Program and 50th anniversary of Small Wetlands Acquisition Program • Conservation exhibitors tent • Youth activities, including wildlife art demonstrations • University of Minnesota Raptor Center demonstration (with a bald eagle) • Hunting seminar, including duck and goose calling demonstrations • Dog training and retrieving demonstrations by prominent trainer, David Russell of On-Line Retrievers • Decoy carving stations • Program (3:30 p.m.) to celebrate Mr. Hautman’s 2008 Federal Duck Stamp Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
