Retro-fit Clam house?

I have a Clam house from about 5 years ago or there about. Anyway, the measurement inside the floor when opened is 4'6" X 5'7". My only beef w/this is that you have to put the poles together and put the cover over it. After parasailing about 150yds to prevent the cover from going near some open water, I decided there must be a way to prevent this. Any suggestions or are there any ways to retro fit it w/the new square tubing w/the extensions? I just hate to take a beating on it and spend a couple hundred more to get a new one. It is in mint condition and I'm sure there has to be some way to remedy this. Any suggestions are appreciated.
