i would like to go trout fishing this weekend do i need a new stamp or is my 07' one good just like the license until may 1? I would like to get some nice trout for my new smoker where should i go? Thnaks for the help

Your 07 license and trout stamp is good till April 30th of this year. But it never hurts to get your 08 License and stamps now so you don't have to worry about it later.

Root River... make sure you go somewhere that is NOT desiginated catch and Release only

do you know of a good stream that is not catch and release and has some big trout?

There are many, many places to fish that are not C&R and have big fish. Actually, there is only a very small percentage of designated and/or non-designated trout water that is C&R.
