Little help on the Vermillion

Recommended Posts

I was looking to fly fish the vermillion tomorrow afternoon. I have never fished this river and was wondering if anyone can give a little help. First any suggestions on the type of fly to use? 2nd i have read a few posts and was wondering if the vermillion is a better river to use small raps and spinners than fly gear. Any bits of help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Let me know how your trip to the Vermillion goes? My brother used to fish that river quite a bit, but over the last few years he said that fishing hasn't been that hot. To much development around it is screwing up the river.... just from what I have been hearing. The fish that are in there are good size though.

Thanks for all your help... I did make it out there for a few hours but didnt manage to find any trout, though there were a few jumping around me. I was fishing in the farmington area near some walking bikeing trails.
