Yamaha T8 handle extension?

I am having a t8 put on my new boat and am wondering what, if any, kind of handle extension works the best? I looked at at a couple different models at Cabelas and am not sure they have a large enough diameter to fit around the handle. The T8 handle seems a little thicker than others??

I know guys that just use a plastic baseball bat. Cut off the thick end to fit and wedge it on the handle. Maybe put some electric tape on it too. Cheap and easy.

I like the Minnkota brand extension handles, they make a short one and a long one. I've tried quite a few and like these the best.
