registering a trailer

so i am going to go transfer the title for my trailer today. the previous owner had lifetime registration tabs, so does anyone know how much it will cost to transfer the title and get plates for it? i guess i dont have to buy tabs now since it has the liftime registration?

If it has a lifetime sticker you don't need to buy plates.

You will have to pay tax on the trailer. What you tell the DMV you paid for the trailer, or what you believe it to be worth is what they will base the tax on.

Yep, just pay tax on what you paid for the trailer, I've always said around $50 to make it look beter. Still only pay a few dollars for the transfer.

well it was like $52 to register the trailer and get tags for the boat, not bad if you ask me.
