DitchPickle13
I will throw in a vote for Cortland Masterbraid. I have Power Pro on two reels (65 on one and 80 on the other) and Cortland on another; I prefer the 80 lb Cortland. Very easy to cast, no absorption and durable. That's my $.
lucy1205
Dude 80 power pro is the the ticket. Listen that first response guy is right. Id sell that gear on craigs list right now. Its a painfull game. it sucks all the fun outta fitchin. its a constent competition in market controlled by yuppys. it aint the 1940s anymore. At least you can still have some fun in the walt game. 4 the price of that set up ya coulda got a call girl, booze, some fish from cub, some fitchin mags, some ammo and had the tiome of ya life. MUSKY18
If ever there were a line I would not recommend to someone, it would be Power Pro. Used some last year and I thougth it sucked. Backlashes bury something fierce and I just didn't like the overall feel of the line. Put the masterbraid on my pole and love it so far!
bubs
The power pro works well if you know how to use a baitcaster without backlashing alot if you backlash pp it will dig in pretty good if you are new to bc reels go with tuffline xp it won't backlash as deep. imo I like pp but if I have the wife or a newbee I have them use tuff xp so I can dig out the backlash. as for # 80 is plenty unless you are hammering rock then I go to #100. If fishing in the metro I go to #50 just because of the diameter and you don"t hit rocks like up north.
