Spazzums08
I have the chance to pick up one of these cheap, but my friend told me that they're basically [PoorWordUsage] units. Anyone's experience with them?
0 BobT
I assume you're referring to the Garmin Rino530C which would be a handheld mapping GPS and FRS/GMRS radio combination. I can't speak for the 500 series specifically but I can tell you from my own experience with my Rino120 that you won't find a more rugged and durable handheld. They are waterproof down to nearly 10 meters submerged, I have dropped mine 16 feet onto a rock pile from my deer stand, had it knocked off my belt clip while ATV riding in mud, dropped it in a lake and it came up ticking every time. Their service has proven 2nd to none and don't get me started on accuracy, mapping capability, user-friendly features, etc. Still assuming you're referring to the Rino530C, I don't believe this is a current available model. Their HSOforum only offers the Rino530HCx, and when I searched their site for 530C I came up empty.Check out their HSOforum. It's easy to find.Bob

0 BobT
I can't help you there. I can only attest to the quality of service and the products I have used and I have been very pleased. Bob
