Sonar Unit/Transducer Compatability?

I've got a Lowrance M68c sonar/gps unit on my boat right now. Wondering if the transducer and cabel connections at the unit would be compatible with a Lowrance LMS 522c sonar/gps unit??? Anyone know?

Or would the switch from the M68c to the 522c require all new wiring & transducer?

Based on the P/N's on Lowrance's HSOforum they are different - but that might be a color connector issue more than anything else.
