Vexilar Fl18/20 or Aqua View Showdown

Looking for some advice as to which one is better?

Looking at both of these and looking to upgrade from my Fl-8.

I worked at Joes Sporting Goods in the cities, and what I learned about the Aqua View, is that it is nice if you are fishing in a smaller footpring/area, vertical screen is nice, and the price is right and it includes the case as well. Other than that it would not really be an upgrade from an FL-8. IMO a vexilar FL-12, 18, or 20 or a Marcum LX3 or LX5 is much of a realistic upgrade. Cons of the Aquaview too is that it is not color.

I personally love the FL-18/FL-20's. If you keep an eye out you can get some great deals on used ones this time of year.

Don't have any personal experience with the new aquaviews. I hear the compact size is nice, but I also hear they run the batteries down quicker, I think because it has a built in heater to keep the LCD from freezing up ... Not positive on this, but definitely worth checking out before buying.

I agree with walleyeguy, not color is a con.
