The Crappie bite has been excellent this week - many limits with fish in the 11"-14" range - walk out or drive off at Hunter Winfield's Resort - 1 blook off of main street Isle. Here is a picture from this Saturday March 15th AM....

crappie jigs and wax's work.

Just remember folk’s, practice “Catch and Release” and selective harvest.

The practices of some in ML crappie “hot spots” and put a strain on these fish.

Shack - good point on the catch and release - the bay has been attracting so many people due to the large and abundant crappie - we'd like to keep it that way!

We caught most of our fish jigging with larvae. Few fish on set line and crappie minnow. Keep enough for a meal and let the rest grow.

didn't get out because my brother and girlfriend stopped over. Drove by at 7:00 and allot of people out. Looks like good info to late.

Few jumbos caught today with spotty crappie action, i'm sure it's due to the traffic this evening...come up during the week - cabins are $100/night for off season - either way, we'll point you in the right direction - call before you come up at 320.676.1100 - if we don't answer we're probably out catching crappies...call Mike at 320.266.0397...or Dave at 320.980.0367 for an up to the minute report....

HWR, How late in the morning does the bite go? Don't think I can make it for a whole day or would I be better off coming up for the late afternoon and early evening?

Well extentions are a good idea for saving your back but you can make it threw with either way. There is a morning and afternoon in to the evening bite i'd try 8am -12am or 3pm-7pm. Good luck
