Loose recoil, starter rope tschumi engine

Recommended Posts

remove top half of the case containing recoil, next pull rope all the way out untie knot in the spool you might need an extra hand because you need to hold the spool from unwinding, if it does the spring can come unhooked. Once you have the rope out thighten the spool as far as you can then turn back untill the rope hole in the case is lined up with the one in the spool. Replace the rope and you should be good to go.

This shoul be an easy fix but I'm not real sure how it would have got loose in the first place. Works ok other wise? any exta noise in the rewind?

Thank You!

It got loose on a super cold day.

The auger was warm from traveling in a heated car for a couple hours, and I choked it and flooded it.

I pulled several times in a row without "re-setting" it to get the auger started.

My friend had a Laser hand auger and jokingly told me there was only 12 inches of ice and he would have his holes drilled before I even got my power auger started.

He was correct. blush.gif

The auger works just fine - but is annoying to have the handle hanging down. There are no other noises when it recoils.

I will have an extra set of hands around before I open things up.

Thanks for the advice.
