Strikemaster gearbox on a jiffy

Just had a thought! I have a 3hrs jiffy that I think would work alot better if it turned slower. I have a strikemaster that is blown up so I was thinking I could take the gearbox off the strikemaster and put it the jiffy. They are both techumseh engines but one is 2hp and one is 3hp. Im going to take a look at it tomorrow and see if they line up. A geared down 3hp would rip your arms off geared down like that if it ever caught!

Jiffy's turn the opposite way of a Strikemaster.

Does the engine turn opposite or does it get changed in the gearbox? Either way I have an auger for each so it can turn whatever way it wants!
