Clam 2000 (Poles Freezing)

Is there anything I can do to stop my poles from freezing after I am done fishing? Often times I have to put my Mr. Buddy heater in the corners to thaw out the poles before I can get them to retract. Someone suggested graphite? Would this work? Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Graphite is a dry lubricant and I'm not sure about it's ability to prevent ice buildup on it. I would think that skiwax or tent silicon might work better to avoid water condensation that turns to ice.
