81 sloughs

Hey has anyone been ice fishing on the 81 sloughs this winter? I'm a student at SDSU and heard there's some fish in there, just wondering if it'd be worth trying out.

Oh ya there are some dandy walleyes, big perch, and gators out there and it doesn't get near the pressure that Thompson or Sinai recieve! Shoot me an e-mail and I can get you on some fish out there. Definately a lot of smaller eyes 6-12" but there are also plenty of 18"-28" inch eyes out there if ya find em.

Quite a few smaller ones towards dark. pretty slow besides that

I was out there this past week, fished on the south end of hwy. 81. A few other trucks out there, but everyone left at dusk. Not really much doin' out there.

Hey Andy, you still ice fishin or did you hang it up for the year? Just wonderin if you've heard of any lakes where they're biting?

I haven't been out lately but I would say that for eyes north east 81 would be a good bet for some eyes. On the south side in about 13' right in front of that "point" right at dark should get ya some decent action! Otherwise the northeast side of Sinai in 18' of water right at dark should get ya some action too! good luck!!

Alright thanks man. We were out the other night at dusk on Brush Lake and nothin doin...tried different depths, dead sticks, jigging...nothing. I'll have to try Sinai next time though.
