We have a new 10 week old female Brittany (which we have had for 3 weeks)and we also have a 2 1/2 yr female gsp, these two are in separate side by side outdoor kennels during the day and we bring them in the house after supper for the evening. The problem here is the new pup is very aggressive as she bites, growls and barks at the gsp all evening till we separate them for bed time. Not sure if this adds to the problem but when these 2 are out in the yard together the gsp runs circles around the pup and she gets to chasing and barking in frustration. Our gsp is young and prbly enjoys the playing but it sure seems to me like the pup is getting out of control? thanks

Hard to tell without seeing the dogs if the pup is playing, or actually aggressive. I would watch it close because a 10 week old pup shouldn't overly aggressive towards other dogs.

If you watch a litter of pups when they are all together you can usually pick out one or two that are more dominate and aggressive than the rest of the litter. Maybe your pup was the dominate in the litter. Your older dog will let the pup know when its had enough.

I have a 10 month old Britt and he is quite the talker. He is always barking or making whatever noises he can when he plays. Even when he plays with me or my 5 year old. I was worried at first, then realized he was just having fun, and not being aggressive. Hopefullly that is the case with your pup. Hope all goes well. Enjoy the pup grin.gif

I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 2 year old britt. Ever since

they met, they have ran played aggressively together. They

run full speed around the yard, biting and rolling around on

the ground. Not mean spirited, just friendly nipping to get

the other one going. Both are good with other dogs and the neighborhood children. Keeps them in good hunting condition

too with all the running around also. They are in the kennel all day long side by side and go nuts when I let them out when I come home. They seem to enjoy each other.

I wouldn't worry about it.
