Late Fall Approach

Tyler Holm

Recommended Posts

I haven't had the cat rods wet for a little over month. I'm looking at going after some channels on Lake Zumbro on Thursday evening.

What types of areas should I target in the fall? Bait? Depth? Current? Time of Day?

Basically would you recommend doing anything different than 1-2 months ago?

My tactic, once the water hits that mid 40 range is to catch walleyes. Hasn't failed me yet wink.gif

I'm not saying they won't bite, cause they will, but it's a much colder sit and wait in 35 degrees

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing I've got a few degrees to spare. The river on Sunday was 50 at Alma, so I've got to believe the Zum is a hair warmer that that, but I could be wrong.

I hear you on the walleye thing, but with DST there's no chance of getting out after work unless your doing so in the dark. Hence my situation.

I turned down an Alma trip the weekend of the 20th. I never heard if they got any flats or channels. It was a camp out in boat for two day trip and I had plans. I have seen some mean pics from that area and look forward to going mabey yet this year or next spring.

I would like to get down to Mississippi North for some more channel action, may be after deer season.
