jonny_redhorse
I figured I'd take a drive through the local country roads just to see how the 1st week-end of deer season was...even with the guys in the stands ,I saw deer (many) in the various fields seemingly unaffected by the hunters presence...amazing ...I took most pics at about 7:30/8:00 or so...I quit counting after 25 or so...here's a doe (with 3 others) that let me roll the truck's window down ...I whistled and she stopped to look back at me ... just neat to see these deer!... and another group of 3.... MN Shutterbug
That first deer is pretty well hidden. What mode was your autofocus set at to be able to get that sharp of a subject? There isn't much head showing for utilizing the spot focus.Or were you able to spot focus on his eye?
jonny_redhorse
Mike...no other settings were used in the shot what so ever...just the camera's auto-focus...I did "sharpen" later using picasa and gave the edges of the pic the foggy look but that's just what I do to alot of my pics....other then that, still just auto-focus...I also used a teleconverter(t-con 17) which always makes the pics a bit blurry...
