greater redhorse

here's a nice greater redhorse I caught on the Otter Tail last week. the fish had a large spinner bait lodged in its lip. I used my leatherman to cut the hook and remove the lure before releasing this magnificent fish.

Nice fish man! Did the spinnerbait look like a legit mouth hook, or did it look like it was snagged?

the spinner bait was legitimately hooked; I'm sure the fish just broke the line with it's incredible strength.

the colors were impressive, the camera phone doesn't do the fish any justice.

I caught one of those fishing pool 2 one with a power grub I had no idea what it was at the time, nice looking fish. Happy b-day Tyler had my 21st last night.

someone mention redhorse! ... !...I'm not sure if greater redhorse live up here near Hibbing....I've never caught one ...maybe they are in my area..not sure...only redhorse I've had the pleasure of hooking are the shorthead variety...they are all colorful for sure...big or small!...a neat fish ...here's a sample of the only species of redhorse that I've encountered
