Guest
This raises another question...Is it illegal/unethical to leave dead minnows behind on the ice?ak
Crawlerman
If there dead it's allright (and even if they are alive; unless you throw them near a hole they will freeze dry and die as well) The DNR actually tells people to dispose of your bait your not planning to use by thowing them out to die, rather than releasing them into a body of water. Guest
OK YOU GUYS,Cool your jet's. Some useful information is forthcoming. My experience has been if you take crappies out of deep water and show signs of the bends, do what I do. Tip the fish upside down at a 45 degree angle and slowly squeeze it's belly.you will see a couple of drops of water come out of the fish's mouth. At this time it is OK to release this fish and it will be frisky as it moves down the hole. Don't believe it? try it- it works. This is my first post and walleyes and jumbo perch are my main game but fish large panfish after the game fish season closes. Hopes this helps somewhat. Got to get going, got walleyes to clean.... ------------------
