Opening day decoy spread

Everyone pumped for opening day!?! I was just wondering what everyone is planning on using for opening day for their spread? I haven't had much luck on opening day, I usually just put a large group out sitting 10-30 yards out from the shore. I only have mallard dekes, 50-50 drakes to hens. I was reading that it might be better to put a 70-30 ratio of hens to drakes. Should I use that ratio in a horseshoe? An X? Lines from the shore? I'm also thinking of putting up 1/2 a dozen goose dekes for those pesky honkers and as confidence for the ducks.

just make sure that you put in a landing zone for them a open pocket to the side or in front depending on wind. I have better luck when they are landing to the side and not looking directly at you. early season I put them out in small groups 4 -6. and leave pockets between them. I only use a couple of drakes on opener depending of what I see scouting if there are some full plumige I will use more drakes

I have heard that you want to use smaller spreads early season like hubs setup because they are not flocked up in big groups as much this time of year. I cant wait til saturday!
