Turning shells into floaters

I'm trying it right now, I took 5 goose shells & I'm trying to figure out the best, easiest, & cheapest way 2 do this. Has any1 done anything like this, or have any tips/suggestions, or am I just doing someting dumb and waisting my time/$?

Stick 3M foam padding on the bottom lips of the shells. I'm talking about the foam cylinders that come out, like water noodles. You won't be able to use the dekes in too windy of conditions, but they'll get the job done. I recommend a gray to match the colors. Use some adhesive tape underneath. You will also have to drill a hole somewhere on the body, preferable close to the waters surface to attach a line and weight to. Experiment with the foam to find a good, even float.

I ended up spending $35 on 7 cans of "Great Stuff." It worked but I wish I woulda waited, your suggestion would have been way cheeper & way less permenant. Oh well thanx anyways
