Camper water leak

BANDERSO

Question

Help,

I have a slow water leak in my camper that I believe is in my pressure tank. It's the tank where the water first fills up and it seems to be aluminum. Anyways, it looks to me like the water slowly comes out from underneath the tank area. My question is has anyone taken one of these tanks out and had it fixed or replaced? If so, how much did that run? Thanks-Barrett

My guess is that it would be similar to a leaking pontoon tube in which case it's pretty tough. If you can find the leak and it's very small, try some JB Aluminum weld. It's basically an epoxy that bonds to aluminum. Apply a few coats letting it harden between each coat. Hopefully it will hold under pressure.

If you can't find the leak, try rubbing soapy water over the empty tank while under pressure and look for the air bubbles.

Welding aluminum can be very spendy, and sometimes not possible. No idea on a replacement cost. Try the easy fix first.
