hey MJ5 I stopped out to coon after hunting tonite lots of open water on the eastside saw everyone fishing on the westside of the channel. what were you fishin for. thinking about giving it a try tues-weds if I don't go huntin. [email protected] drop me a line Tim

Tim, I fished west of the channel. I went there intended on fishing for crappies but things changed. I ended up jigging for pike. Opposite shore of the access in about 9 feet of water. There is some open water straight out from the access so go down the shoreline towards the channel about 40 yards and then cross the lake. Jiggin spoond tipped with minnows worked for me. The pike took it pretty agressively and even chased the bait as I reeled it up before striking. Pretty fun action. A lot of gills roaming the weedbeds too. Bring both minnows and maggots and enjoy.
