Tonka Muskies

I've been blanked this year - I think the last few years of pressure has made the fishing out there tough. I have yet to even see a follow this year! Now I don't consider myself a great muskie fisherman but I have put my time in and caught a few fish along the way. This year has been tough for me on tonka. My theory is the fish have been pressured into night feeding. confused.gif

Tonka has been very good to us this year although I have only fished twice. The first time out was a 47" for me (my best so far) and we saw 9 other fish (follows and just swimming by) that day.

My buddy who was fishing with me the first day went out 4 days later and got his first if the year, a 45.5".

He has since put a 48 and a 44 in the boat on Tonka.

I took another buddy out that had never fished Tonka before and he stuck a fat 51. That tied his p.b. set two weeks before on Mille Lacs. On a side note, the Mille fish was 7 lbs heavier.

All have been cpr'd so good luck. Most of them came from the east end.
