cameras and laws and fun

Okay, I gotta start layin down my hints and suggestions for Christmas. Last year I got a Menards Aqua something camera. It was cheap, but it sure was fun. My son and I laughed our butts off watching Perch bite our lures. Especially when my son sets the hook like he's latched on to nuclear submarine and the perch disappears from the screen in a flash! I told a co-worker about this and he said it was illegal to have a camera down with bait. Is there any truth to this?

Assuming it is okay, what do you guys recommend for a camera since this Menards cheapy broke after one days use? The signal from the camera was lost after wrapping up the wire while cold. I returned it and got my money back. In fact, I returned a few other gifts and got a Vexilar 20, which I am delighted with.

I don't want to buy another camera if it is illegal to use with bait down.

That guy is fuulll of it. Cameras are totaly legal. I'll bet that guy money he couldn't find where in the regs camera's are illegal. As for a new camera, get a seven inch screen. Makes seeing the small details so much easier. I'd recomen the Scout II by Aqua Vu or the Cabela's camera for 180$. They are made by marcum. Both camera's are great buy for your money.
