Valv
I am looking into purchasing a Trojan F32 Sportfish boat. Anybody can share their experience with this model ? Viking...where are you...
Ufatz
Valv: Have not personall owned a Trojan, but have been around them and know or knew a couple owners. They are what I would call a Ford Crown Victoria sorta boat. Modest quality, but owners usually like them. They seem to last and the brand has been around for quite a while. The ones I know of were all in the 30' size range with twin gas engines etc. Watch out for the usual stuff. Heck....maybe you could even find a marine surveyor to take a look for you. Just remember: it's a boat- SOMETHING is wrong with it
Capt. Don*
I have run several of these and have known three people that have owned them. Good boats overall and alot of boat for the money they bring, depending on the year, most were built w/360 Chryslers and velvet drive transmissions. These were fuel thirsty. A friend and I repowered his w/350 Chevs and it was a whole new boat when finished. Some problems inherent to them were stringers rotting and bulkhead separation, not a death sentence, but a fair amount of work and expense to make the repair. Depending on where the boat is to be used, they have some drawbacks in seakeeping ability. They are a tough boat to handle in a big following sea, but with practice most are able to overcome this. Look for any evidence of leaks, they had a tendency to leak around the windshield to deck sufaces. Is this a Lake Superior boat? If so I probably know of the boat and possibly some of its history. Let me know.
