mnhunter2
When is the best time to plant raspberries and who would have them for sale for fall planting?
Wormdrowner
You plant raspberries in the Spring. Your best bet would be a local nursery, or a friend that has an established patch. The plants that you put in the Spring will bear fruit the following year. They are a perrenial plant, you will get new shoots each spring, cut out the old canes after they are done bearing fruit. rainylakefisher
DON'T cut all the raspberry canes unless you're sure what variety you planted. Some raspberry plants only fruit on last year's canes and you'll be stuck without berries every year. Some varieties do produce on new growth, but you're better off only cutting out the oldest stems each year on a three year rotation.
