I'm probably the last to learn this, but I'll share it anyway. Anyone out there who bought a Strikemaster Lazer Ultra last year that had problems cutting with them should call Strikemaster. They will issue you a return authorization number and exchange the drill unit of the auger free of charge. Apparently they have made some modification to the design and are willing to ship the new ones to those who want to them. I had trouble with mine last year and called. The solution last year was to send a new set of blades. They figured out the blades weren't the answer, so this year they're exchanging the whole drill bit! It's worth a shot for me, so I'm sending mine back. I'll report the results when we finally get some ice, but wanted to pass along the info.
