Guided (or not) hunts

Recommended Posts

I was looking for some reccomendations as to who to contact for a guided waterfowl hunt this fall for my wife. The group she used to go with is longer no together and last year she was not able to go, and needless to say, she was pretty bummed out. I myself use the fall for bear and whitetail hunting as well as muskie fishing and have never shot a duck or goose in my life, so I haven't the foggiest idea where or who to go with. I also have minimal equipment so I think that the guide thing is a must (We have the guns and some calls, but no boat/blinds or decoys). I would like to surprise her with a hunt this year and any help is appreciated.

G-man, I might have what you are looking for....

we just opened up a new HSOforum with info on 4 new duck hunting packages that also include sharptail and pheasant hunting when the ducks aren't flying (usually midday).

These packages accomodate groups of 4-6 and combine land a lodging. 4-night stay and 3-day hunt is $695/person and that includes waterfowl, sharptail and pheasant. ND waterfowl license is $85 and Upland is $100 and both can be obtained over-the-counter.

Winter freezeup is an issue so it is a short season but duck opener is Sept 29th.

There are 4 separate ducks camps located near Gackel ND.

A wide variety of duck species use the are year round - mallards, pintail, widgean, redheads, bluebills, teal, canvasback, ruddy and bufflehead to name a few.

All hunting/lodging is private and exclusive to your group.

See www.uguidewaterfowlhunting.com for more info, photos, maps, etc.
