marine band radios

Anyone out there use marine band radios in there perm fishouses was thinking of pulling mine out of the boat and useing it in the house this year on mille would just have to buy a new antenna.

We use hand held walkie talkies,You can get a decent pair for around 40 bucks, they have a two mile range on the ice which is more than enough for our group, (Draw back) They suck up batteries, If you buy rechargable batteries and a charger you could have another 60 or 80 bucks into it.

Sure. We use them allot. When the fish aren't biting, the radio is our best friend. I would guess nearly half the houses out of Brandt's use them. A word of caution though, the talk gets rather vulgar sometimes. Not too great for sensative ears sometimes.
