Retro Active
Has anyone rebuilt the carbs on a "Classic" Merc 125 4 cylinder, with the 2+2 option? I'm going to try it this weekend (I have the book), it seems pretty straight forward. I've done a couple of rebuilds before, but not on this particular engine. The book makes no mention of needing a vacuum guage or anything like that. I'm assuming I do a clean tear down, soak in carb cleaner for a day, blow it all out, and reassemble with new gaskets according to the book's instructions. The only adjustments it says to do afterwards are the idle screws.Any other hints/tips?
Retro Active
I suppose I could have put this in "Boats and Motors". I keep forgetting that forum exists.
iffy
You have the right idea and approach. Its pretty straightforward. Just make sure to sync the carbs when you reinstall them Loosen up the screws on the linkage and set the sync with the throttle plates closed.
