chiroeye
wallEYESSome of these other lakes around Nestor Falls that are better walleye lakes, what would they be? I fish Kakibichiwan and Big Pine in the summer, and occasionally clarkson, but are there other lakes good for winter walleye fishing? I would have thought that LOTW would be most productive, going along with summertime patterns. Please, correct me if I am wrong, as I have only been to the area once in the winter time. Keep in mind also, this year I will be equipped with a snowmobile.
WallEYES
CHIROEYE Most of your classic points and humps where you catch eyes in the fall you will catch at first ice. Gohre Bay area is good at first ice and the fish seem to disperse shortly after up into split rock narrows area and beyond. There are better walleye lakes around N.F. but you have to get there by snow machine. Later in the year(March) try below the falls area in about 30 feet. We fish 5-10 feet away from the open water thru the ice and catch some decent sized sauger and walleyes, but be prepared to have company by the locals. I pretty much chase lake trout and spend a day or two going after those crappies with my two boys when I am up there.
