New to the Cities

We are new to the Cities--live in a southern burb. Looking for some good streams to wade. What is the Vermillion like? Is it easy to get on land? Are the streams easily waded? What kind of bottoms typically? Thanks for your help.

Welcome, Vermillion holds some huge Browns. I've never fished it, and have heard very few stories of productive catches. Check out this forum if you are interested in wadable trout streams.

There are a few spots on the Vermillion, for many you'll need to arrange access with local farmers. The closest good trout streams to the Metro are the Kinnickinnic and Rush rivers in Western Wisconsin then Hay Creek near Red Wing. Of course a little further away are the great SE Minnesota trout streams

There are many nice streams not very far from you. SE Minnesota has plenty of streams or eastern Wisconsin is a good choice as well.

Um, don't send this guy to Eastern Wisconsin, unless he wants to fish Lake Michigan. It's Western Wisconsin!

LOL, haha yea lake Michigan would be tough..!

you really need to travel down to the lanesboro/preston area, great fishing down there. 2 hour drive from the twin cities though,

later, good luck
