Ice house conference room

Recommended Posts

A while back (a couple years ago) on the news in Minneapolis they had a piece about a fish house that was a conference room, it had a conference table, fax machine, satellite Internet connection.
Is that still around? Is there any place on the internet to check?

Thanks

Brian

Hadn't heard of that one, and I'm in the news business. What a bummer, bringing the office along in the ice shack. That's where I go to get away from the offic.

Can you imagine your boss calling on the cell in the sleeper house on LOW after you've had your sixth brew and the rattle reels are going off? Yikes!

You guys are talking my language here. I never heard of this conference shanty but I saw one up at Hudek's on Upper Red last winter that I think belongs to Babe Winkleman. It's a two story job with big picture windows. **** sure big enough for a conference table and may well have had an antenna or two on top. Not your everyday "run and gun" rig though......Personally, since I'm on call 24/7, I have installed a 12v electrical system in my portable that includes cigarette lighter adapter for keeping the phone charged on those longer trips. I also keep a laptop along (in the truck) that contains my databases if I need reference and, oh yeah, lots of downloaded lake maps! People find it hard to understand when I have to put down the phone to bring up a fish!.....My only wish is that I could convince my boss to let me "work from home" more often!!........T

I saw the same newes item on TV, the guy's were sitting in this really nice fish house/office with all the electronics inside. They had ties on and showed them going about business and then off to the sides were the fishing lines. I guess it looked a little (no a lot) "yuppie" to me though!! Man ya gotta have some empty (a few full too) beer cans laying around, a couple dead minnows in the corner, left over pizza and chips on the shelves, etc. I thought we went fishing to get away from work? Hee. Hee. Good Fishing.
