Trailer Question

I currently have a permanent house that I haul around on a utility trailer. I found someone that will make a trailer with collapsable wheels for a decent price - so here's my question. - Should I spring for an extra couple of hundred bucks for torsion axles? It's a pretty light house, but I'm thinking of making the trailer convertable for use in the summer also, and I'm a little worried about long trips with solid axles.

Torsion axles are the way to go! They have 2 main advantages, one is that you have fully independant suspension. You can hit a hole or bump on one side and only that wheel will move giving your house a much more stable ride. The second is the fact that the reliabilty over a spring suspension is greatly improved. No u-bolts to loosen or break,no springs to crack squeak or sag, no spring hangers or shackles to break crack or become misalinged. All quality snowmobile trailers have torsion axles these days and I would'nt think that the price difference should be a couple of hundred dollars. You might want to do some research on the price difference and you may be able to get a smokin deal when you let the frame builder know how much real price difference is!!
