maros91
I also have recently bought a new house with 4.5 acres and have a hayfield for a yard. I currently mow about 1 acre. I am sick of mowing over tractor ruts and uneven ground. There is very minimal grass that I am mowing. Should I have a farmer come in and disc and till it, then I can drag it and smooth it out with a 4 wheeler. Also, the ground is all clay and I don't have a lot of money and black dirt is expensive. Any suggestions? I know spruce and pine trees don't like clay but I like them very much. Any tips on making these trees grow? Any help will be great! Ryan_V
suggestion: let the hay grow, have a neighbor farmer come and cut/bale it. you don't have to mow, and you'll have hay to sell that's the easy way out!! when i lived in town, I had a very nice lawn. when I moved to the country, I gained a few hours of mowing time each week. now my philosophy is if it's green and I can mow it..........good enough!! otherwise it you're set on grass, not sure what you'd do there!! good luck.
