Lazer Mag help...

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hello again, I just got my lazer mag in the mail. Gas cap damaged other wise seems OK. Going to try it this week-end.

Question... Under the carb there is a metal toggle with a hole drilled in either end. One end sets against an adjustment screw. If some one gets a chance can you look at yours and see if there is supposed to be a spring attached. If I pivot it to a new position it remains in that position untill the throttle lever is pushed down then it resumes its position against the stop screw. Maybe it is working correctly but I would feel better knowing for sure.
Thanks guys,

Iceworm: I went out and looked at my Auger. I believe we're on the same page here. You're referring to the toggle that is on the opposite side from the choke? When I depress my run handle this will move and reset upon release? Yes I do have a spring attached to this toggle on my unit. I have the Lazer Mag 3000, however the engine on all should be the same. Again I'm looking at it from the side where the pull handle is located. Hope this helps you. As you can see from my description here that I'm really mechanically inclined BIG SMILE. What species of fish are you chasing in Alaska?

Bill thanks for the reply. I took it out for the first time today to Quartz Lake for a test. Drilled a few holes for a Russian familly struggling with a hand auger with 32" of ice. It worked liked a charm. I will try to look at someones when I get the chance to see if I need the spring. I snowmachined 30 miles up the Goodpaster River to Volkmar Lake last weekend and did pretty good on Pike. It is supposed to be fairly fished out and the possession limit is one. I caught eight Pike and kept the largest at 32 1/2", pretty large for around here. I am going to keep it kind of hush ,hush as not many people have been going in there. We also have rainbow trout, land locked salmon, char. bourbot, lake trout. Thanks again for the reply.

My wife was on a cruise last year to Alaska and just loved it. I'm sure the scenery inland is beyond compare. 30 miles to the lake on the sled. God I'm spoiled, but then I have driven 4 1/2 hours by car. Sounds like your Lazer did the job. I'm on my second season and it hasn't failed me yet. It really does a great job. Nice pike, sounds like it isn't completely fished out. I'd keep that honey hole to myself as well. good luck, and keep a tight line.
