building small cabin in Burnett Co.

Recommended Posts

Hope to start construction of new deer camp in May. I'm about to start the permit process. Any pitfalls or tips from anyone out there?

will be pretty small 14x30, propane heat, electric, outhouse.

I have about 10 Acres in Burnett County myself. I had planned to build a small place myself, but have sinced purchased a cabin near Hayward. From my experiences the folks you will need to deal with in the gov't offices in teh county are real easy to get along with. As long as you shoot them straight info, they get back to you in a resonable time frame. If you need a reference for a drive way let me know and I will see if I can find the contact info for the guy that did my partial. The county uses him for some roads and the township I am in uses him exclusively. If you are in a township I would advise getting to some of the township meetings, it will give a you clearer picture of what you can and can not do.

I'm in Roosevelt Township. I need a septic permit before they will give me a building permit I've found out. And from what it sounds like just getting an outhouse installed will be a major undertaking. tongue.gif

$50 permit, $150 soil test, outhouse itself, 200 gallon privy vault, ect.
